¡Parece que por fin hay (pequeños) avances en la película 50 Sombras de Grey! Hace un par de semanas, E.L. James estuvo en Los Ángeles y se ha reunido tanto con la guionista Kelly Marcel como con los productores (incluso ha paseado en Ferrari con uno de los productores, Dana Brunetti por las colinas de Hollywood). It seems that the film Fifty Shades of Grey moves forward a bit. Two weeks weeks ago, E.L. James was in Los Angeles and met with both the writer Kelly Marcel as with producers (she even took a Ferrari ride in Hollywood with one of the producers, Dana Brunetti).
En una reciente entrevista en el diario The Guardian, E.L. James contaba que se estaba preparando para la reunión sobre el guión releyendo 50 Sombras de Grey y reconocía que su propio libro le ha enganchado y que está muy involucrada en el desarrollo de la futura película. In a recent interview to The Guardian, E.L. James told this:
«Sonará extraño, pero estoy releyendo Cincuenta Sombras en este momento – me estoy preparando para una reunión sobre el guión- y no puedo dejar de leer, ¡es verdaderamente adictivo, caramba! ¿Estás muy involucrada en la película, que realizarán los productores de «La Red social»? Sí, lo estoy. Soy un poco maniática del control. De algún sitio lo ha tenido que sacar Christian, ya sabes». «This is going to sound weird, but I’m re-reading Fifty at the moment – I’m preparing for a meeting about the film script – and I can’t put it down. It’s a real page-turner!» Crikey. Is she very involved in the film, which will be made by the producers of The Social Network? «Yes, I am. I’m a bit of a control freak. Christian gets it from somewhere, you know.»
Por su parte, Kelly Marcel – guionista de la película- también ha hecho sus deberes trabajando sobre el libro, aquí podéis ver una foto de su ejemplar de 50 Sombras todo lleno de Post-it publicada por el productor Dana Brunetti (y yo me pregunto, ¿qué siginifcarán los diferentes colores de post-it? Veo muchos marcadores de color fuchsia, espero que sean las escenas imprescindibles que todos esperamos ver en la gran pantalla). The writer Kelly Marcel has also done her homework on the book. Here you can see a picture (published by the producer Dana Brunetti) of her copy of Fifty Shades of Grey, with all the book full of Post-it (and I wonder, what will mean each different color? I see lots of fuchsia colored markers, I truly hope those are for the essential scenes we all expect to see on the big screen).
Confiemos que en la reunión entre E.L. James y la guionista kelly Marcel ya se haya dejado claro cuáles son las escenas que obligatoriamente deben aparececer en la película y el modo de llevarlas a la gran pantalla del modo más fidedigno al libro sin perder la esencia. Let us hope that the meeting between E.L. James and writer Kelly Marcel has made clear what scenes must appear in the film as well as how to take them to the big screen without losing the essence of the books.
Además de reunirse con la guionista, también tuvo lugar una cena muy «divertida» con todo el equipo Fifty Shades: autora, guionista y productores. ¿De qué hablaron? Lo desconocemos, pero me imagino que trataron el tema del guión y con toda probabilidad hablaron de quién será el director elegido. Apart the meeting with the writer, Team Fifty (author, screenwriter and producers) had a «fun» dinner in Los Angeles . What did they discuss during the evening? We don’t know, but I can imagine that they talked about the script and probably they disccussed about the film director.
La elección del director para la película 50 Sombras de Grey es la siguiente gran noticia que estamos esperando, y es posible que con el viaje de E.L. James a Los Ángeles sea un tema que se haya cerrado. ¿Es posible que la propia autora haya dado una pista al respecto? Escribió un tweet dando las gracias a Jack Morrissey por una agradable velada. The pick of the director for the upcoming Fifty Shades film is the next announcement we are all expecting, and we hope that the author visit to Los Angeles had served to sign the deal. Maybe E.L James herself has given us a clue about it? She wrote a tweet thanking Jack Morrissey for a pleasant evening.
Pues bien, Jack Morrisey es la pareja del conocido director Bill Condon, quien ha dirigido las dos últimas películas de la Saga Crepúsculo: Amanecer I y II, y tal y como informa Examiner.com, «la pregunta es si Condon estuvo presente en esa cena, bien porque la autora le tiene en mente para dirigir la película 50 Sombras de Grey, o bien para solicitar su consejo sobre la elección del perfecto director para la película». Well, Jack Morrisey is Bill Condon‘s parther, and Condon has directed the last Twilight Saga films: Breaking Dawn I and II. Examiner.com was the first media to mention it and it said «the question has to be asked if Bill was also at that meeting with James and whether she is considering him to take on the «Fifty Shades» trilogy or possibly just probing him for advice on how to pick the perfect director.»
Que quede claro, que todo esto son todo suposiciones, ya que no ha habido ninguna comunicación oficial al respecto, y el propio Jack Morrisey bromeó sobre el asunto y sobre el citado artículo en twitter haciendo alusión ¿en broma? al director David Cronenberg. To be clear, all these information are suppositions. There has been no official communication about the choosen director, and Jack Morrisey himself joked about the mentioned article on twitter and also referring to director David Cronenberg (joking again?).
Sobre la gran pregunta ¿y qué pasa con el casting? ¿ha habido algún avance?, sólo sabemos lo que respondió E.L. James a uno de sus fans durante su estancia en Los Ángeles, haciendo alusión a lo mucho que se tarda en hacer una película y volviendo a decir por enésima vez que primero ha de estar el guión, después debe haber director y a partir de ese momento, los actores.
